Mercury at Greatest Western Elongation

Mercury is the farthest from the Sun than at any other time in the year, making this the best time to see the planet in 2026 since it will be at its highest point above the horizon in the morning sky between about 6:30-7:00 AM. Look just above the horizon in the constellation Aquarius to the S-SE before sunrise.
